Welcome to Independence Missouri's Historic Homes!
After the Missouri Comprimise of 1821 Missouri became the 24th State of the Union. In 1827 the town of Independence was platted and a log courthouse was constructed.
One way to get a feel for Independence Missouri is to view it's historic Homes.
The Vaile Mansion for example... was built in 1881 by Colonel and Mrs. Harvey Vaile. This mansion has 31 rooms and includes 9 marble fireplaces. The home also has spectacular painted ceilings, a built in 6,000 gallon water tank and a 48,000 gallon wine cellar.
